The Turbine Theatre at Battersea Power Station is all geared up to add a dash of musical magic to the summer season with two brand new musicals.
First up is Halls, a fresh musical from the creative minds of Jennifer Harrison and George Stroud, brought to life under the direction of Andy Fickman (known for Heathers). The curtain rises on this production on 07 July. The plot twirls around eight freshman university students, all hailing from diverse backgrounds and upbringings. They find their lives intertwined when they're all placed in the same Halls of Residence, namely, Flat 15B.
A decade after the award-winning TV show, Breaking Bad, captivated audiences, get ready for a quirky twist with: Faking Bad - The Unauthorised Parody Methsical. Penned by Rob Gathercole and directed by Andrew Beckett, this Faking Bad - The Unauthorised Parody Methsical hits the Turbine Theatre stage from 17 August.
This outlandishly fun methsical combines a plethora of musical styles and theatrical elements to whizz through 62 hours of television in under 90 minutes. Expect a laugh-a-minute rollercoaster ride through the desert! The promise is clear: it won't be a dry run. There might even be Mexican hats and maracas to spice things up!
