The Secret Garden

Mary Lennox, lives in India with her wealthy British family. She is a selfish and disagreeable 10-year-old girl who has been spoiled by her servants and neglected by her unloving parents. When a cholera epidemic kills her parents and the servants, she is orphaned and sent back to England to live with her widowed uncle at his huge Yorkshire estate Misselthwaite Manor. He is rarely there and finding herself neglected once again, she begins exploring the estate and discovers a garden that has become hidden and, aided by one of the servant's boys, plants the seeds of new life for all those drawn into her secret refuge as she begins restoring it to its former glory.
