Left alone while her family searches for the missing herd of cattle in the unforgiving snow, a Neolithic girl seeks comfort in imaginary friends. Threats and fears are lurking in the shadows, and as she fills the cave with stories about her family, dreams and ideas, the reality of isolation starts to take its toll. All the while The Thing Without a Face is drawing closer... In a Cave, a Voice is a bold experiment in storytelling which strips away any references to modernity to find kinship with a character whose life and world could not be more different from our own. Exploring themes of isolation, imagination, hope and sorrow, it nonetheless resonates with a modern audience in unexpected ways.
