What they loved

Really good set design and loved the music
Can't remember a huge amount about it, but at the time I definitely enjoyed it!
Good stage design
Excellent adult cast, staging and orchestra.
Loved the new reimagining of it! Special effects were just wow!
Nostalgia, some of the songs
Saw the 2022/23 version. The staging was very good with lots of moments to make you laugh. Great to be able to see some inclusitivioty integrated into the show as well as roles that can be either gender.

What they didn't enjoy

The theatre had some poor seating in the stalls due to the balcony cutting off views to the top of the stage
I wanted to leave this show at the interval.
Slightly disappointed that in both shows I saw, Charlie was played by girls. In the films & the West End shows Charlie Bucket is a boy! The two girls were very good, but the other 'child' roles were played by adults, it just did not feel right! Also, there was no Mr Bucket, Charlie's dad!
Slightly slow first half
Not the best adaptation
The songs were sometimes a bit too wordy and didn't stick very well. In some places there needed to be more set and less screen usage
