From the 10th June - 9th September, Menier Chocolate Factory will host the world première of the new musical, The Third Man.

Graham Greene's captivating tale, which inspired a groundbreaking film and a compelling novella, now takes center stage as a new musical. Written by Christopher Hampton with music by George Fenton and lyrics by Don Black, and under the direction of Trevor Nunn, the story unfolds in post-war Vienna. Holly Martins arrives in the city, invited by his friend and hero, Harry Lime, only to learn that Harry has died in a car accident. However, the details don't quite add up. As Holly delves deeper into the world of black marketeers and military bureaucracy, the suspense builds, culminating in a thrilling chase through the Viennese sewers. Holly is determined to uncover the truth about Harry's death and the identity of the enigmatic third man. Audiences will be on the edge of their seats as they are drawn into the world of The Third Man.

This production marks Trevor Nunn's latest collaboration with the Menier, following his work on Fiddler on the Roof (also West End), Lettice and Lovage, Love in Idleness (also West End), A Little Night Music (also West End and Broadway), and Aspects of Love for the company.
