Bette Davis plays a wealthy one-eyed widow (complete with designer eye patch) who gathers her sons together once a year to celebrate the death of the husband she detested. Mama Davis couldn`t be more castrating if her last name was Bobbitt: Her grown sons (it`s been 10 years since daddy died) are essentially weaklings who seem to secretly enjoy the hold she has over them.
